BTEC Level 3 Creative Digital Media Production- TV & Film Production is a full two year diploma worth two A-Levels. Our studio school has state of the art TV studio facilities and is acclaimed for the high quality of our student led productions including live broadcasts of EU referendum debates, interviews with leading politicians, Olympic athletes and celebrities. Our unique course puts the student at the heart of the TV & film making industry and students are encouraged to start their own media careers including  creating and running their own YouTube channels.

Students are taught all the skills needed for media industry projects, making the most of our outstanding, professional-standard TV studio and Gallery, location cameras, lighting equipment and editing software. Teachers bring in depth knowledge from media professions and experience.

A range of creative projects across the two year course require research, analysis, planning, logistics, team working, film and editing skills, presentation, leadership, technical ability and creativity. All students are encouraged to perform a range of roles, as well as playing to any existing media production strengths and interests. We have nurtured links with Sky News, BBC Points West, Bath Spa University, the University of the West of England and the Royal Television Society, as well as many independent production companies. Our projects this year have included: music video production, game shows, as-live studio programmes, political debates with general election candidates; live EU referendum debate simultaneously broadcast on YouTube and with our partners Somer Valley FM, interviews with the Secretary of State for Education, Alastair Campbell , Olympic gold medallist Jason Gardener, explorers, writers, broadcast professionals and industry leaders.

We base learning around our own TV production company run by students and broadcast on YouTube to create  regular content and to give experience of presenting, producing, camera work etc.
