Admissions policy

The Bath Studio School is a unique Collaboration of local schools and employers. The school offers a real choice within Bath and North East Somerset as an alternative to existing provision. We want to give young people an opportunity to shine based on their real abilities, passions and interests.

The School will be a pathway for young people to be able to pursue their professional areas of interest and be fully equipped for the world of work. The School curriculum will focus on 3 key sector employment skills pathways: Creative media, Journalism and Broadcasting; Business & Administration; IT, Computing & Graphic In addition the school will have a highly academic pathway which incorporates vocational learning. The key objective is to offer a high quality curriculum which meets employer demands and equips all students with the employability skills so needed in the current and future employment arena.  The curriculum will offer progression routes 14-19 and beyond.

The pathways will drive a distinctive ethos for The School, ensuring that creativity, risk taking, team work, problem solving and a 'passion for learning' drives standards. Project based learning pedagogies embedding the CREATE learning framework will underpin delivery of the curriculum across all pathways. Students' experiences will bridge academic and practical studies through project based learning, weekly industry standard work experience, e-learning and enterprise programmes.
